IKEA's opening a new store here next friday. For the last week or so, stuff like this has been happening all around town:

The town looks so pretty and interesting, though.
Here the store never does anything like that, despite years of renovations now.

The nice sunny weather helps immensely making everything look pretty. *g*

Well, they're only doing this because it's a new opening. ;-)

...and maybe to make nice, because thanks to the (also new) adjoining mall, shops will disappear from the city center (and smaller neighbouring towns) because a) they're relocating to the new mall in hope of better business, or b) they can't compete with the new mall.

Yeah, it's just very good PR. Outside-city-IKEAs don't need that. Still. Nice way to work. And wire with silk over it can easily be attached to walls.

the walls (and ceilings) in my appartment are of a consistency, that doesn't make it fun at all trying to attach stuff heavier than a piece of paper to it.
