Waxing Disaster

I don't understand why, even though I stressed that "they just need to be cleaned up a little" and "only the few strays need to go," the stylist interpreted my clear instructions as "please rip out every damn hair so my eyebrows look like penciled-on C's." She even agreed with me: "Yeah, they look pretty good already." Then why, Linda from the ( Read more... )

Once you find a good stylist/waxer you're forced to hold onto them like a life preserver in an ocean of bad haircuts. I had my hair cut the other day and despite specifically telling her not to cut a certain area of my hair she did anyway. Brows though - have you attempted any touch ups with a brow pencil to see if it evens out more?

Oh, believe me, I know. The Moira girl I mentioned was my favorite stylist ever. Unfortunately, I moved away from Edinboro two months after she opened her own salon. Also, I understand your hair-cut complaints -- only I'm usually irritated because it's not short enough. For example, they never cut the bottom part in the back super-short. Once it grows out, I get this little mullet-like thing that I despise. I don't get how hard it is to do a pixie cut.

Re: Brows -- Do you know how much make-up I have (not taking into account I accidentally forgot it at Aaron's)? A-freaking-ton. Yet, do I have a brow pencil? Nope. I guess somebody's going shopping. Although, upon a more rational assessment this morning, the brows aren't as thin as they looked yesterday. But yes, they definitely need added color.

As a fellow short-hair wearer I concur: It's never cut short enough. Usually I have to ask them to go back at least twice to trim it further and it's still not short enough.

Sometimes I wonder if it's because of the boy/girl hair cut thing but then I look about me and see how many women have pixie cuts. Is it really that hard?
