Just wanted to be totally clear on how you folks are running the matching -

If I OFFER
Fandom X
*Character A
*Character B
*Character C

And another person REQUESTS
Fandom X
*Character C
*Character D
*Character E

We could match? And in that case, I am only obligated to write Character C?

Thanks! :)

Yes, that's correct. You're only responsible for writing the characters you offered. :)

I just wanted to clear something up about eligibility. I haven't participated before. The post says: if a woman character generates FEWER than 500 hits on AO3/200 hits on fanfiction.net for complete fic on a single website (and does not generate greater than 500/200 of hits on another site) then they are eligible for nomination.

1) Are the #s backwards - is this supposed to be 200 AO3/500 FFN?

2) Is the slash "and" or "or"? Does a character have to be under on both sites or just one?

1). No, those numbers are correct. Since AO3 tagging system favors tagging every single character who appears in the story (as opposed to the FFN system of tagging only the primary characters), characters can have large numbers of stories that they're actually not a primary focus or even an important part of.

2). The character is eligible by either standards, unless the numbers on the other site are way out of range. So if Character A has 400 fics on Ao3, but 500 on FFN, then that character will not be eligible. When the numbers are close to the specified ranges, we'll vote in favor of including the character.

How many characters can we nominate per fandom? brightknightie January 20 2014, 20:14:49 UTC
Please forgive me if I'm just overlooking this item in the rules or FAQ, but how many characters can we nominate per fandom? I see that we can request 1-10 and offer 1-20, and I see some posts on the discussion thread assuming that we can nominate 1-5, as in previous years, but I'd like to be positive.

Thank you very much!

Sorry, I know this is not the way to ask but I have tried to find prozacpark's LJ without success, hence this comment.

I have nominated some fandoms and characters and then a few minutes later changed my mind about a character. I tried to edit but AO3 wouldn't let me. I've tried more than once but it keeps flashing a message:
Sorry! We couldn't save this TagSetNomination because:
•Owned tag set You have already submitted nominations for that tag set. Try editing them instead.

Given I have been clicking the edit button it has been a tad frustrating.

Could you please ask prozacpark to respond with some nice ideot-proof instructions about how to edit a character selection?

Thanks

FA Watson
