Author's Notes: Pansy is one of my favorite characters to write, and I absolutely love her with Ron (and all its angsty glory). I hope you like this! Also, I've borrowed the title from Simon and Garfunkel.
The moonlight fades as dawn arrives, and as he pulls her over him and moves beneath her, Pansy prays for darkness and curses the light.
For they only meet in the dead of night, far away from prying eyes and suspecting friends and the bitter coolness of their working relationship. He is, after all, a war hero and his image would be tarnished if his adoring public discovered where he spends his nights…or that he spends his nights with her.
How she wishes she could forget.
If only she could forget.
If she could erase from her memory the sound of his voice, whispering wicked things in her ear before growling in ecstasy. Or how his larger body crushes her smaller one beneath him as she wraps her legs around his hips and forces him deeper inside of her.
And how her body shudders and her pulse races and she cries out his name, tears threatening and her heart aching to spill what lingers on the tip of her tongue.
Although she refuses to admit it - to herself and to him - they are always there, those emotions she has felt so forcefully but fought so vigorously all her life: urgency, passion, lust…and love.
And each morning, as the sun rises and Ron Weasley slips from her bed once more and Apparates away, Pansy curses the darkness, vowing to Obliviate herself so that the next time he shows up on her doorstep, she won't remember…so that she'll tell him no.
But all the while knowing that she never will.
