Springtime and returning to self

I have been in a fantastic mood and mindset lately, and I owe it entirely to livejournal. That is, I owe LJ for allowing me to meet so many wonderful people, who absolutely yanked me right out of the dumps when I started feeling very down recently. Thank you. :-) Also, man, those Nips are good! Perfect for me too, since I have a major sweet tooth, and need something to wean me off of my tendancy to snack on chocolate all the time.

My yard has a ton of trees (a couple I have yet to identify, because I actually didn't grow up around this sort of plant diversity). Unfortunately a lot of them were really abused or simply not cared for (there's a lot of wire that some of the tree trunks have grown around; I assume previous owners hung things from the trees and didn't care about how it hurt them) so last year I really started to try and get them freed, and make them healthier, and I'm looking forwards to working with them more this year. The sycamore is really spectacular, and there's an L-shaped wall of cedars around it, skirting the edges of my property. The trees are actually thick enouch that I have (the world's teeny tiniest, heh) little forest in my backyard. I really want to put up a privacy fence, or preferably some sort of huge trellis or lattice (since we've also got a ton of ivy growing, that I'd love to snack up a trellis) in the back corner, so I could put a little seat of some kind under the trees and have a little refuge to escape into.
