More Introducing the Librarian, Part I

Jan 13, 2009 21:24

I ended up wearing the same Spongebob underwear for the duration of the trip, and I bit my cheek at dinner.

Other than that, I couldn't have had a better trip Up North with the Librarian.

Before we had even arranged our first date, the Librarian and I had discussed introducing each other to our respective special trees in some far-off fantasy time. ( Read more... )

I love all the pictures! You two look so happy together. (I expect nothing less from the Introductory Honeymoon phase!) You need to get a little tripod though. I noticed a few pictures on Picasa with half a ranger's face, LOL.

3 more days before I head up north! This post has made me even more excited. :)

I can't believe how much photographing I've done of redwoods and waterfalls and people-with-me-at-arm's-length without breaking down and getting a tripod. A German tourist even told me I could pick up a miniature one for like ten bucks.

We watched Milk in your town last night, by the way. You and I will have to cross paths in MeatSpace eventually. This has just gotten ridiculous.

Have a great time up north! They appear to have had it slightly wetter than us.

I need a breakfast place and 2 dinner recommendations, please! Yelp is not helping. :(

In Arcata? I'd go with Crosswinds (corner of I and 10th) for breakfast and 3 Foods Cafe (J between 8th and 9th) and Folie Douce (G, around 16th) for dinner. The latter is on the pricey side, but worth it if you can afford it.

Just popping in to say that while I never comment on your posts (and it's not just yours!) I always do read them and it's really, really nice to see you look so happy. Even though I don't know you at all, I know you've had a rough time of it for a while, so it's nice to see this!

And I've always wanted a librarian myself. Just sayin'. ;)

Glad to hear it, and thank you :)> Besides, I know how it goes with the reading and not commenting. Life has certainly ticked up in recent months - two months and two days, more precisely :)>

And if you have no particular commitment at the moment, get you a librarian!

Oh, I haven't been committed in years, but I wouldn't be a fit companion for anyone at the moment. ;) I'll just live vicariously through you for a while!

Well...at least I got to wave at y'all on the Redwood Highway. You guys look mighty happy at 63.5 mph. Sorry we missed you while you was here.

Yeah, I spotted you on the way out of SOC, and hoped we'd at least get a wave at some point. Good ol' Big Lagoon. We shall return, hopefully with more time and greater availability for the folks I'd love to see again.

It was awesome to see you and meet the Librarian. I have many pics of pizza night and will email them at some point. I just got back from 5 days out in the mountains (WSP orientation retreat ahoy!) so I have many things to do first (like shower) but they are on their way...
