ADD TALK

So as some of you know I recently realized that I very very very likely have ADD, which has been undetected by myself, my family, and educators for YEARS.  I mean, I sort of get it, because I can understand why it can go pretty undetected for someone like me who wasn't really fulfilling a bullshit stereotype of what ADD looks like, even though all ( Read more... )

Man I thought you were still in DC! I was all up in the LA from like, Friday through Sunday, I would have been like "WHAT YOU DOIN".

Seriously though: I'm really sorry to hear about the partial diagnosis, both on the sympathy of how rough ADD/ADHD is (especially when it's not just simply distractive, but straight up anxiety-inducing and impossible to work through), and on the sympathy of how hoorrrrible getting the full diagnosis on the follow-up is for just about anything.

I really hope that you can get some help soon. I don't know if it's just because most of the time when we talk it's about ridiculous things or me being super self-involved, but I hate seeing you so frustrated! ADD/ADHD is at least better understood than it was through the 90's and you'll likely be able to get some concrete help. Really, good luck all over the place.

GURL. I was diagnosed adult AHDH a couple of years ago - and just like you, no one noticed it (or if they did, my dad shut them down; he was a firm believer in "there's nothing wrong with you that a good ass-beating won't cure!").

Just be aware when they write your prescription that there's currently a shortage of Adderall going right now due to the company that makes it trying to force everyone to switch to Vyvanse (which is not currently available in generic).
