Hello, flist! *hugs*SO, I haven't been posting too much this month despite checking LJ/my flist every day. I'm still trying to look for a better way to download my photos to my mac because this canon camera software just ain't cutting it. If you have any suggestions help me out ( Read more... )

When they brought out all the winners at the end... I really don't think there would be any woman if it wasn't for the best actress categories either...

Best actress awards are there so that the women can show off their dresses, pretty much. (Otherwise why separate acting by gender? They don't do it for anything else.)

This. It was white men dominating everywhere. Then again, I suppose I shouldn't complain. I mean, in 1972 Sacheen Littlefeather accepted/refused the Oscar on behalf of Marlon Brando in protest of the treatment of Ntvs, so that's sort of like representation in the oscars!

Ok, that was a snarky ass comment to make, but seriously.

And haha oh oscars. I tweeted: The oscars is like that old @theonion headline joke about presidents: "will our next Oscar winner be a rich white man?" . Pretty much sums it up!

I should clarify: This particular joke was made well before Obama was president, and well before anyone had heard of him. Just one of those things that I read years and years ago that I still remember I guess.

I was quite excited when Obama was elected, for that reason (and many others too, of course!)

Yea, about those Oscars. Honestly, I didn't even realize it until people mentioned it. I guess I'm just that desensitized to it, which sucks. -_-
