Ethnic minorities ALWAYS have hard time with life. Because people who suffer from racism never get anything or receive any success. EVER! If they did, that wouldn't be right. That doesn't accurately depict them or their struggle. Their existence is just a huge contradiction.

O_o There are just so, so many things wrong with her comment. I especially ~love how she says "She is pretty, popular, talented, and apparently near the top of her class, at least in Potions" apparently as evidence that...Lily is not similar to women of color??? Like women of color can't be pretty, popular, talented, and smart? Or, what, if you're happy and successful then any prejudice and oppression you experience doesn't count?

So I really, really, don't see why those young women identify with her so strongly, while failing to identify with Sev or any other character with Muggle (not Muggleborn) descent.

Gee, I wonder why women who have experienced racism might not identify with someone who yells racial slurs at people. IT'S A MYSTERY, YOU GUYS.

Please. The man was a bitter bigot and was written to show that poor moral decisions and prejudices can RUIN YOUR LIFE AND OTHER PEOPLES' LIVES BECAUSE OF SUCH HATRED.

I don't really understand how someone like this feels like they are capable of speaking for and representing a group of people/women that they can never completely empathize with nor understand the prejudice and racism that said group will endure their entire lives ( ... )
