Had appointment with my hepatologist yesterday (May 17th). To remind anyone who missed it, I'd previously been diagnosed with fatty liver lisease (fatty material in my liver) and hepatomegaly (enlarged liver).
I hope you don't need a biopsy! That sounds un-fun. Of course, paying strong attention to your fat intake for ... ever? a while? ... doesn't sound exactly like a vacation.
One of those web sites indicates that diet/exercise/no-alcohol can halt or reverse fatty liver -- that's a good sign! Maybe the hepatomegaly could be reversed as well??
I'm definitely hoping against the biopsy! But I get the sense that (if I'm lucky) I may not have to pay strong attention to my fat intake, nor entirely eliminate alcohol, especially if I exercise and get my weight back down.
With all this still quite up in the air, and with my hepatologist not even recommending that I work on low-fat eating (yet), I'm not terribly concerned (yet). I'm definitely taking a wait-and-see attitude.

I would increase exercise and reduce fat and alcohol in the meantime but not be obessing over either - as that's a general good health idea overall.
