I'd have to second sakred_icon's comment, and advise you to find out as much as you can about the pay and the nature of the required posts. And consider whether it'll make you too crazy during a demanding senior year. But it is worth looking into! It concerns something that you're interested in, and you obviously love to write. If the gig is everything that it seems, it sounds like a terrific opportunity. Good luck.
Heee! Unfortunately, I can't take credit for this userpic - it was made by caitirin_icons. She's quite a prolific icon maker; you should check her out if you get a chance. :)
Actually, I know her. We've even chatted once or twice. Fact of the matter is, if ze makes Utena icons, I probably know zir. ;) I'm just that big a geek.
well you potentially already blog five days a week sometimes so that sounds pretty cool. the percentage salary might be tough though. Is there steady advertizing each week? What do you have to blog about? too many constraints? or just enough to keep it interesting? sounds like it might be fun.
Be very wary of freelance work, they love to stick ya. A lot of freelancers won't get paid. My dad does freelance and he gets fucked over all the time.
Sounds kinda like being a pulp writer used to be. :)
Won't make you a living, probably, but might make some supplementary income. If you're sensitive about being paid to push things that you might not normally be inclined to push, paid blogging might give you conflicts. Otherwise, I don't see any reason not to...
It sounds interesting, at least! What happens if you want out before the contract is up though? And what if it gets boring? And five times a day? Geez, I'm sure only the most obsessive fans check their website that many times a day! Maybe the band will give you stuff to talk about that's interesting though.
