I feel like my brain should hurt more

I just wrote a 30.5k word fic in ten days. Intro, six chapters, coda. Significant portions of chapter five were written while in, let's see, five airports. How numerically appropriate. BBC Sherlock, so's you knows, and a very sexy pg13 ( Read more... )

No, it's okay. That's what I have the table charts and my notebook of crazy for.

I've sent the draft along to A, but internet's down where she is. Very sad for all involved.

I would like to counter with the chorus.

I am a very productive person in airports.

I don't mean to bug, because really, your fics are the reason I watch Sherlock. Which, btw, I loved, but out of curiosity, are you still doing DW fics. Specifically, In Human Hands? Like I said, love what your doing now.

If I have converted you to that TV show, then I am a very happy person. As for IHH, I've posted some info in friends locked entries that effectively boils down to:

1. I put way too much of myself into my writing.
2. At the time of writing IHH, I had my first love. Might've bled through, just a bit.
3. The end of updates effectively corresponds with the end of that relationship.
4. Now it kind of hurts. Someday, I hope to reach a place where I can finish writing it without it hurting.
5. That day is not this day, but I do have a lot of outlines sitting on my shelf. At the moment, I have more hope than faith. (Not to mention senior year of uni, plus I've just been laid off. So.)

Occasionally, I do get new DW ideas (or people give them to me), but I'll admit there's some trepidation about going back in without having IHH finished.

thanks. Hope that the day does come that it writing doesn't bring memories you'd rather not thing about. Good luck with your last year!

I just came over here looking for some clues to the status of IHH, and found this and it makes me so sad. A story that wonderful shouldn't be abandoned. I hope you someday do reach a place where you can continue writing it. I can't guarantee it won't hurt, but sometimes things that are worthwhile aren't always easy.

In the meantime, it might be nice if you put up an author's note? You've got a lot of fans anxiously awaiting the next update, and if it's never going to come, maybe it's better to know that.

Thank you for a wonderful reading experience. I normally avoid WIPs just because they so often end this way, but for this story it was still worth every word. I'm gutted that we'll never get to see what happens next. I hope someday you decide to continue.
