Sometimes, people tell me random things and then stories happen. Like that time a friend told me to write a Doctor Who stapler monster. Stuff like that

a drabble per stanza, Doctor Who, someone's favorite pairing but i dunno whosebendingsignpostJuly 17 2011, 03:04:55 UTC
Sitting in the car, houses & wind outside, three in the morning, windows obliterated by snow
The taxi arrives by three. Three in the night, not the morning, no matter what lifeless clocks say. He pats his pockets, apologizes, and then they leg it, a mad dash through the snow.
“I can’t believe we did that.”
“Oi! Everything we’ve done and ditching the taxi is what-”
She laughs white into the dark of his jacket, into the light blinding the night. Reflected moonlight drowns the world as flakes fill their footprints.
“Taking the taxi,” she corrects, all shivers and smiles. “Never thought I’d see you do that.”
“Full of surprises, me.” He’s safe: she’ll never guess.

You must keep lines like this in a jar next to sunshine and wishes. Because no way can this sort of language just come to you so effortlessly. You have to at least twist a lid off something.

Oh Doctor. OH. And of course he didn't have any money on him, and of course he wouldn't ask Rose to pay for this particular ride and OF COURSE OF COURSE OF COURSE.

I AM HONORED TO BE YOUR FIRST. Expect more. Lots more. I have like two entire folders of those babies and they express my emotions more succinctly than I can these days.
No joke, I spent the first 10 minutes after seeing your post linking to this going back through my flist wondering HOW I COULD EVER MISS SUCH A THING before realizing, oh lol this was like 10 days ago right. But even so! HOW COULD I EVER MISS SUCH A THING.
I'm hitting you up with one more before I leave you alone for the night, swearsies.
I don't know and do admit to mild surprise at the delay. But you're certainly here now.
...There is something wrong with me for instantly knowing what the hell I'm going to be writing to that prompt in the morning. Well, not instantly. The thought process went "...What the hell? What the hell could I possibly- Oh. Oh, that. Wow, that's obvious." And it will be in the morning, because I've already stayed up writing until sunrise twice this month and we're only halfway through it.

unable even to say

When I made this post, I knew that there would come a day when you found it, and then I would be screwed. I kind of don't mind. At all.
