OH JORBY you know I love your cartoony style, right? Being able to work in a more simplified, cartoony style definitely has benefits, like if you want something to have a "cuter" look or if you're doing sequential work and it would take way too long to fiddle with a million little details in every single image. I just meant that I myself am trying to develop enough skill to be able to work both ways and not always rely on a style where all the characters look identical. (Personally, I'd already thought you were quite good at varying the amount of realism in your own work.)

ANYWHO I don't actually know if that was what you were referring to, but either way, party on with your bad self.

oh no no, i got what you meant alexa =) and yes! i think flexibility in style is definitely a good thing to have! i'm definitely in the same boat as you -- i want to be able to push my work to other styles depending on what i am working on. one of my most favorite artists is nobuteru yuki who drew designs for lodoss wars and escaflowne. he's able to adapt his style to whatever project he's working on and it's amazing!

B-but I love your cartoony style! Well, you could always go back to it from time to time after you've gotten more comfortabe with your realistic style! ♥♥
