Day Two!! Happy Froday!

Oct 04, 2013 06:08

Just dropped Cathy off at the airport. I didn't tell her to have a good time, because it's not that kind of trip. Just told her to get through it. Drove to the airport in my PJ's and with the worst case of bed-hair you've ever seen. Thank GOD I didn't get pulled over ( Read more... )

This was fascinating to read. You've done so many interesting things in your life so far.

I agree completely with your thoughts on religion.

As for computers, I was working in the Music Division at Reader's Digest in 1980 when the first computer arrived in our department. My first thought was, Thank God I'll be retired before I ever have to learn to use one of these. Ha! Five years later I had a (then) state-of-the art Compaq computer, had learned Word, Word Perfect, Excel and dBase III. That was the beginning of a total love affair with computers and I can't imagine being without one now.

I'd never heard of slash until someone mentioned it in 2005, or thereabouts. I had to have it explained to me. ;>)

I do believe in 'something'. But I think it is so far beyond our understanding that even contemplating it is pointless... like a flea trying to do multivariable calculus.

Well, this theory makes more sense than any religion I've studied. We haven't even maxed out our knowledge of our neighboring planets, and yet some people claim they know what makes the entire universe (and other universes) tick. And this unfathomable equation somehow always boils down to religions that, among other things, insist this Supreme Being cares about two men hooking up or whether a woman's hymen is still intact. Oooookay.

THAT particular "god" was invented by old men whose only goal was to have power over other human beings, especially those who happened to be female.

And to 'him' I say: "Blow me."

*hugs*

Any two males I saw. Ummmm. Shows like 'Combat'. Cop shows etc. I didn't know what sex was OR what it meant to be gay, but I knew I loved boy/boy love.

I was curious about what you were slashing in 1950. I couldn't think of a TV show from that era with slashable male characters so I thought you might have had movies in mind or books. There were a lot of slashy shows in the 60s.
