This is why I prefer animals to people.

Posting this to no real purpose aside from venting. Warnings for animal abuse, graphic wound description, and May Make You Hate Humanity.

This is about as bad as it gets. )

Yyyyyeah. I think everyone's lucky *I* wasn't in that office, either. The phrase 'helicopter of fists' comes to mind. Yeah I'd go to jail for assault for that. In every real way she KILLED that dog AND made it suffer needlessly in the process with a dying limb.

Hell isn't bad enough for her.

The doctor said that the person responsible for tying that dog up should hang, and I'm inclined to agree.

*shudder*

I grew up on a farm. Accidents happen, and calves would get their legs in places they shouldn't have and get wounds. Now, we fed them twice a day and did a check, especially of the just weaned calves, and we'd catch it the same 12 hour period, but it was always hard. You had to cut the calf from the herd, put in a paddock, doctor it, keep doing that for a week to 10 days...and someone just casually did this to a dog? Calves are really dumb and thoughtless critters, but dogs are pretty smart. That sounds deliberate and/or extremely stupid. If she'd brought the dog in when it first happened, you could have saved that poor animal's life.

And then I tell myself that if you had saved its life, it would have gone back to the same dumb-ass owner and something worse would have happened.

Sometimes, people suck. I'm so sorry. *hugs*

*curls up close*

I understand accidents happen. Animals swallow things, they run out into the street and get hit by cars, they get into fights. They can get hurt literally in the blink of an eye, and there's no one to blame for that.

This? This was not an accident. This was close enough to deliberate as to make no difference.

*moar huggles*

Of course accidents happen. But then, as the responsible pet owner, you step up and take care of the animal. That's not what she did. She ignored the problem long enough that this was the end result.

You're right, this was too close to deliberate. That poor dog.
