Ooh, poetry about childbirth and motherhood... that's a staple of poetry slams as far as I can see, as bloody and visceral as possible, but having it performed by a man would be a new twist. Carry on daring him :)

I've fortunately or un-, have never been to a poetry reading! That's weird to say, cause I should have by now. Ah well. I think it's funny what you've got to say about the poets :) & true. I respect bad poets, because at least you can have a good time trying to write like them.

I have noticed a lot of pretentiousness about poetry, fa'sho. Poets are supposed to be an elightened lot, but I notice many who think they're too cool, and see too many love poems that are all about how the OTHER person is so awful.

I do wish I could see that monkey woman though.

there is an intrinsic lack of compatability between the words and the music.
