Z has a history of taking pictures of me from the most unflattering angles possible. It was genuinely remarkable and led me to develop reverse body-dysmorphia in which in my head I thought I looked OK, but when presented with his photography would reassess that.

I think it is an insufficient attention to detail, where they think something looks ok but in reality it doesn't. Or it could look OK with a minor adjustment such as "hey, if you took off your glasses the flash would not make you look blind in one eye!"
