I'M JUST HERE TO EXPRESS MY NEVERENDING LOVE FOR BOSS. Really, if anything, this season confirmed that as long as they stay true to the heart of the series (Osawa being being a police goddess and nurturing future generations of BAMS! The team being stupid and perfectly playing off each other!) I'm gonna be there *_* (And I'm being really greedy here, but since I thought the finale was a bit disappointing, I really hope we'll get a special. OR A MOVIE OMG YES PLEASE.)

It's not that I didn't THINK "third season", I was just trying not to jinx it :P And if it's the case, I sincerely hope this time Erika's company will not cram her schedule with so much stuff they will have to reduce her screentime, ugh. Anyway - and especially since my Western BOSS substitute is ending this year :( - I'm up for more seasons, specials, movies...basically FRANCHISE PLEASE.

...OOPS. Okay, forget I said anything LA LA LA WHO WANTS A THIRD SEASON ANYWAY IT'S NOT LIKE THERE'S SO MUCH POTENTIAL TO BE EXPLORED WITH THE NEWLY-EXPANDED TEAM AND POTENTIAL PERSONALITY CLASHES AND NODATE/OSAWA GROWING CLOSER THAN EVER. Is it just me, or could the second half of S2 be viewed as "Nodate slowly realizing his less-than-platonic feelings"? There were a lot of lingering glances on his part. And that whole "are you jealous" subplot, which had me going "YES. YES. YES HE IS!!!!"

What's your Western BOSS substitute?

Aww, see, I am completely with you about the cast change! I was all set to watch this until I was told Toda only had a cameo role, and I got so disappointed because my favorite part of the original was hands down her relationship with Amami Yuki's character. It seems the the new girls are getting those lessons in badassery though, so now I'm tempted to suck it up and watch this ASAP. like a BOSS

That bit about Hanagata's wardrobe is as hilarious as it is accurate. lol I doubt he has a single plain, sensible article of clothing in his closet.

Man, I felt the exact same way. I was super-pumped about a sequel until I heard Kimoto was only "sorta" coming back and then my interest plummeted.

I do really think it's worth a watch, though. The replacement ladies carry their own weight (TADAKORO ESPECIALLY ♥) and Osawa/Kimoto is still there, just in limited quantities. If you don't mind a few spoilers...

Kimoto spends most of the drama on a secret mission for Osawa. When she finally comes back at the end, the two of them + Nodate work together like badasses. Seriously, they're on like a whole different level than the rest of the team. It becomes obvious that Osawa trusts Kimoto more than almost anyone else, that they speak like equals and run on the same wavelength. IT WAS SO FUCKING GREAT.

Oh oh I want to highlight! I feel my EQ being tested. Haha OKAY! Putting BOSS 2 on my download list as we speak, if only to satisfy my infinite curiosity over that sizable gray box up there~

Yup, not as good as the first one but still better than many others. Besides, OSAWA ROCKS! (even if she is a 2PM fan LOL!) And I love The Team too. Those flashbacks were fun and we did get to know a bit more about almost everyone + how they got the crew together. The ending was a bit meh but does it mean there'll be another season or at least a SP?

fsdlkjfsdf the 2PM thing was hilarious. ALL THE GUYS TRYING TO RIP OPEN THEIR SHIRTS THE NEXT DAY. KEEP UP THE EFFORT, HANAGATA. ONE DAY YOU WILL BECOME A REAL BOY. I love how Iwai was more flamboyant than ever, too. INDIRECT KISS!

I hope we get something else in the future, even if it's just an SP. I'm not ready for the series to be over. ;___;

Heh, watching BOSS sort of put me into a j-drama kick and I dug out an older drama I'd stashed away. Turned out it had Takenouchi Yutaka as another lead, LOL! How's that for a coincidence.

'Nodate' when he temped in a seaside inn.... XD TY was kinda young in that one.

I agree that BOSS 2 wasn't quite as good as the first season, but it was still very enjoyable. It's a pity Toda Erika was only in a few episodes (though very good ones!) since I actually quite like her. Her mini-Osawa works so well. Osawa herself is, of course, the ultimate badass in this drama :).

I'm happy most of the cast returned for this. I thought the rambly lady pretty bland, but I like the actress playing computer girl. Though the subplot with Yamamura's crush on her felt unnecessary. Actually, a lot of the humour this time felt more forced than with S1.

Oh, but the humor is one of the things I genuinely loved about S2! I'm a sucker for snappy dialogue, and they really kicked it up a notch this time around. XD I also dug the multiple plot arcs - I liked that they had different threads tying the whole season together.

(I didn't like the cast changes and some of the character decisions they made, but ehhh.)

Her mini-Osawa works so well.

I still watch this drama but I do think it (both seasons) is pretty overrated. If Toda didn't star I'd find it even more overrated. I think I'm probably the only one who thinks so so. :/
