I love how you put that Taguchi is cuter than baby kittens. I think I agree.

I couldn't finish this drama because all the sugery sweetness made me a bit nauseous, but I was impressed(?) by the remarkable display of masochism on display by Miura here.

How far did you get? I think my favorite combo was Dad + Miura near the end when they were terrified Narumi was going to steal her away. UNHOLY ALLIANCE!

I think after the first handful of episodes, I started jumping around to get plot points.
But Dad + Miura seemed hilarious together all the time.

his pet phrase being "daughters should listen to their parents until they become brides!"

One day Aiko finally snaps that she'll just get married, then!

GREAT MESSAGE. :|

::sigh:: Sorry. . . got a lot of feminist rage going around.

I felt the same way, especially when she chose Miura (marriage) over Narumi (the actual possibility of a career!!! he wanted to work with her and teach her the industry! she could've been a confident sexy businesswoman!)

But it was a cute fluffy drama we weren't supposed to think deeply about, so I tried to let it go.

I actually tried watching this one a while back, I guess subs were freely available and I find Ishihara really pretty, but I got totally fed up and had to stop. I was fed up with the dad in general, though, not just for feminist reasons. I mean, what the fuck. And fed up with her for putting up with it! For crying out loud, I like my parents and actually liked living with them, and even I was like GET OUT OF THAT HOUSE FOR GOD'S SAKE.

I remember I spent awhile completely bewildered because she never even hinted at wanting to move out or live by herself. If she'd considered her options and then decided she wouldn't/couldn't do it (financially, emotionally, whatever) that'd be one thing. But it was like she never even thought of striking out on her own.

I was also annoyed when Miura started parroting her dad's rules and they tried to tag-team her for her own good, insisting she couldn't handle her job and should quit. Narumi was SUCH a contrast -- he actually encouraged her to be independent and approved of her taking the initiative! Of course she had to reject that.

I hope this drama doesn't make the obsessive fatherly love seem normal. o_o;;

The dad's actor was the saving grace, IMO. He was freaking HILARIOUS. He was like... channeling the spirit of Tom Cruise, only on purpose.

HOW WAS I SO LATE IN COMMENTING ON THIS WHEN IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE JDRAMAS FOR THE LONGEST TIME EVER?! (And also introduced me to my now favorite KAT-TUN member, Junno, and one of my favorite actresses, Ishihara Satomi, hello! X3)
