I'm going to be really really nitpicky on details so look away if it's too much??

I received my morning dress outfit a while back but forgot to comment on it...whoops? Here I switched the grey waistcoat out for a gold one from Volks and the ribbon tie out for a bowtie to pull everything together. I did mean to take a pic of it in full but I already took Mr. Williams out of it and I'm lazy. LAZY.

I love this suit. Your Mr Williams is beautiful and charming as always<3 I see what you mean about the pants. While very retro (I instantly think Toshiro Mifune in Kurosawa's Stray Dogs or Scandal) I think that baggy style is a bit more casual. Maybe not a style that would be worn with that particular jacket (though I'm still very much in the learning stages when it comes to the history of men's fashion) but if that is what they wore... it's what they wore. Still absolutely lovely and so detailed. I actually like the change you did with the vest and other details. A bit more fitting style wise for your Mr Williams I think.

To be honest this style of pants is exactly what I'm looking for for my Mr Z. Much of his fashion tastes are inspired by the old movies I mentioned above. The photos on FT are rather deceiving. I didn't realize that the pants were baggy up top. Most of the styles look more like a skinny cut. I might have to purchase a few. Thank you for this lovely review.

Hahaha yea, I can't fault FT for doing the pants exactly the way people wore them back then! It's charming that they did, and shows their eye for detail.

No no, I have pants from other FT suits and these are the only ones baggy up top! The pants that come with all their other sets are cut in the more modern/slim fit style like so:

That is really great to know Rene! Thank you. I haven't even begun to look for clothes for Mr Z. I know that I'm going to have to have quite a bit of it custom made for him (his clothes are not really in trend right now) and honestly don't know where to even start looking. So far I have really liked what I have seen coming out of FT so it's great to know that I can at the very least talk to them. (I seriously love your Hijikata btw. I love the sculpt as it is but I seriously love what you've done with yours. Beautiful boy<3 Thank you for posting another photo of him XD)

It's a shame you weren't fully happy with the suit, from the photos it looks very nice on him! Morning suits aren't meant to match their pants, the pants are either a pale grey or pinstriped usually and the waistcoat is another colour again. They're even worn like that now, not just as a Victorian thing.
Sleeve length is a funny thing, you measure with a bent arm to accomodate for that movement, but on dolls the way the sleeve sits between bent and straight arm is a lot greater than one humans, so it's a bit of a personal preference thing. I'm an err on longer kind of person.

Hahaha I'm happy enough! It's still my favourite of all the FT suits just because I love the tailcoat so much. XD I usually don't let the little things bother me because so much can be hidden using photography, like carefully rearranging the sleeves. Interesting point about the morning dress trousers, I knew they were usually pinstriped but didn't know why -- Google tells me it's to give off a less sombre air than a full dinner suit.

Yea I noticed dolly elbows seem to eat a lot of fabric so bent arms always look off because the sleeve retracts to show so much wrist, especially if you go for the hands-behind-the-head pose!

Yeah, as long as things look good in photos I can usually let little issues go too.
