As requested by helenbutterfly, a tutorial for this icon effect. It's a b&w manga icon tutorial, but it can be used for any picture with a bit of tweaking I'm sure. :) Please DO NOT DIRECTLY COPY, the tutorial is here as guide, so please try not to duplicate the icon 100%, and don't reuse my examples in the tutorial, they are just there for examples only. ♥ Now ( Read more... )

very nice! how did you do that border? do you know if you can do it in psp?

I just use this border by copying and pasting it unto a layer, and then editing the colors to fit the icon. ^^ There's a way to do it using patterns, but I didn't mem the tutorial, so I forgot how. XD;
