As requested by helenbutterfly, a tutorial for this icon effect. It's a b&w manga icon tutorial, but it can be used for any picture with a bit of tweaking I'm sure. :) Please DO NOT DIRECTLY COPY, the tutorial is here as guide, so please try not to duplicate the icon 100%, and don't reuse my examples in the tutorial, they are just there for examples only. ♥ Now ( Read more... )

Dear, by "don't duplicate the icon", I meant mainly the images. XD; Like I said, the images with the base are just examples to see how your icon should look at a certain point of the tut and aren't meant to be reused like that; I'd prefer if you tried the tut with your own pictures and experimentation, but no worries. ♥

Thank you for trying it though, and I'm happy you liked it! I'm glad it was easy to follow, because that was one of my concerns for some reason, haha

haha its alright :-[ its late and i don't think my brain processed that. i mainly just used the one you did because i have no idea where i'd find another picture to use and i was interested in trying out the coloring process. i won't be using it anywhere either so don't worry.
i know my biggest concerns when writing tutorials is making sure people can understand it because well if they don't, then how are they supposed to get the right effect? its very very good and i know i'll use it on some other pictures.
