I know Nobou and Chiharu don’t understand why Otani and I love Umiboozu so much, especially whenever we go to karaoke. We can’t help it! We always have to do at least, I don’t know, five Umiboozu songs!
Honestly, every time I do sing with Otani, it’s like it’s just us in the room. I don’t hear Nobou’s complaints and I don’t hear Chiharu’s awkward laughing. I just hear my voice along with Otani’s as we rap, sing along and try to dance in sync. Oh, sure we do crash into each other and that’s when I come back to earth, and I do get slightly annoyed whenever Nobou comments on how we should include that dancing bit into our act.
Though maybe it’s just me but I’m thankful for moments like this in karaoke. Even though Nobou and Chiharu are my best friends, at times, I feel like I can’t really understand them 100% like they seem to understand me. I can’t deny that I love them so much and I can’t deny that I possibly spend too much time with Otani, as it is, but just to be singing with him. Dancing with him. Rapping with him.
It really does feel I’ve stepped out of reality for a moment and just be in a new world.
