Small Secrets

Ryo Nishikido knew the importance of keeping things private. However, when something slipped out he would blame everything else but himself. Most of the time, it was because Yamashita couldn’t keep his mouth shut. Other times, it was because he left something out - which could be blamed by the token squirt, Tegoshi, who is so nosy and so “forgetful”. Koyama and Shige had the decency to keep his secrets as such. Even though they sang and performed together, Masuda was a mystery to Ryo but he didn’t care - as long as he kept his mouth shut.
As he grew older, he realized that secrets aren’t secrets for very long. Even though he did realize this fact, he still wanted to cling to something that he could keep to himself but not even pretty princess Ueda Tatsuya couldn’t let him have that.
“He just has to have everything, like the damn princess he is,” Ryo muttered to no one in particular. It wasn’t like Ueda stumbled upon a life-altering secret. It was a small secret even; Ryo had a crush on him. Of course people like Ryo didn’t have crushes. He wasn’t some high school girl who would constantly fawn over Ueda’s feet and worshipped the ground he walked on. Ryo was above that. He was more mature than that. Though Ryo would never admit to actually loving Ueda. There was nothing to love.
And besides, it’s not normal to have crushes on your coworkers. Especially when it can cause such a scandal. And also, Ryo had little to no interaction with Ueda so how could he get a crush on him, of all people? Sure, yeah, he was Jin’s coworker who always hung out with Yamashita (even while he and Ryo were together). And sure Ueda was usually the one who came to get Jin, especially ever since that blasted princess found out his small secret.
But that didn’t mean anything special. Ueda Tatsuya is a cocky bastard who knew how to smile, who knew what words to say to get Ryo angry, who knew what little movements to make to catch Ryo’s attention. Even if the other members don’t know about this battle between the two, Ryo wasn’t keen on telling them.
As pathetic as it sounded, Ryo was glad to keep that as a secret, however small it really was.
