I don't know why you think the way you portray House makes him ooc. You didn't turn him into an idiot, sappy and buttery lover trapped in a stupid and ridiculous plot (*cough* mind-numbing hameron fics *cough*). At the beginning you had him focused on solving the puzzle that Chase was and then, when he decided to help Chase with his iusses, he did it out of curiosity considering the whole process a sort of behavioural experiment: this is something House would do. In this chapter he was analizing the reasons behind Chase's actions and just because he wasn't caustic and abrasive as his usual doesn't make him ooc: he can't always be a cinic bastard and he knows when specific circumstances require a different approach ( ... )

I guess I'm just pretty insecure about writing about House. I did some Perry Cox from Scrubs and it was no problem at all even though people always say how hard it is to write his character. I think I just worry about getting House right because I like how he is in the series and I don't want another House in my story, I want HIM (well, just a little more gay^^). But I'm very, very relieved you think he's okay like he is. =) Thank you very, very much for taking the time to comment this explicitly! You inspired me to finally write the last two pages (as soon as I have the time), because I think my ending is even worse in being non-house-ish, but maybe I'm just imagining things there, too =)

You know, I think you should read a real bad!fic to understand how good is the job you're doing!
Even if I saw only few episodes of Scrubs it seems to me that Cox's personality has a lot in common with House's so I can understand how difficult could be to work on his character. Actually it'll be fun to have these two interact and maybe have them compete for Chase :)

I think there are a few Scrubs/House crossovers, I thought about that same idea, but since I already have a story planned for as soon as this is finished that won't leave my mind, I don't think I'll try the crossover thing.
I've read some pretty, pretty bad stories, but in my opinion there's always a difference between someone just don't getting it and writing crap and someone getting it and trying to write it, but failing. I don't know, I'm paranoid. ^^ But well, I think I'm going with my House for now. =)
