Yes, I am old and boring. If I'd known how TOTALLY AWESOME it is to be old and boring, I would have done it sooner.

Can I "qotd" you? That is SPOT ON.

Yay!!! I thought about going on that but I'm not quite as excited as you about backyard landscaping. (without the backyard and all) Have fun! And your rain barrel must have overflowed on Wed night. Eek

Oh, the rain barrel overflows pretty much every time it rains. I think at the workshop they said it only needs about 0.1 inches of rain to fill it up (given average roof area). So we do have a handy overflow hose. I'm not 100% sure it keeps up with the truly severe downpours but even if I do come up with a better plan I doubt I'll ever get it implemented :)

citizen_ken's sister had bees, until they had a colony collapse. We can put you in touch if you want to talk bees...

Aha! This may be very useful information. I'll let you know. At the moment I'm going to see if I'll be happy just providing habitat and homes for wild bees. Although when I was pruning the hedge last weekend, it was chock full of what I believe to be honey bees. The flowers are so tiny, I hadn't even noticed it was in bloom but the bees were all over that action. We had a nice visit.
