I am wearing them right now!

They're not super trendy but they do fit and only cost $20 so I mostly bought them for work. I am so petty.

But I have new jeans! Yay!

Hee!

Mostly I'm trying to figure out what to do since it looks like The Icelandic Phallological Museum might not be open past September 10th. Woe is me! I will have to console myself by soaking in outdoor geothermal hot tubs.

rent a car!! I was there in May, and renting a car was the best thing we did. Reykjavik (the city itself) is rather less than attractive, the countryside is the appealing bit, and public transportation is pretty limited. Just driving around from cool place to little village to awesome geothermic vista was the best part. And hiking up a mountain. Also, you must go pony riding! The icelandic ponies are desperately cute and friendly and manageable even for small people with no clue about horses. I didn't think I'd enjoy it but was grinning like an idiot the entire time.

We won't be renting a car this time. We're there for three and a half days. One day will be spent on the famous Golden Circle tour. One day our host will be touring us around. I was planning to spend one day wandering around the city but now I am quite enamoured of this pony-riding idea! I think we'll have to see how things pan out when we get there and try to fit in some pony time. Because, in the immortal words of Slashdot, "OMG Ponies!"

Yay, ponies! Icelandic ponies aren't only cute, but unique and interesting too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_horse You can do half-day pony rides -- most of them are part of a package tour including other Things To Do, but you can also arrange directly with the pony farms. And in case you need extra convincing, icon is a cute rolling pony, just after being unsaddled...
