I like how they have all these possible flavors for their popcorn. Though that's dangerous, too! My roommate and I once lost control and put, like, five different flavors all on the same batch. It turned out a little gross.
I'm generally afraid of movie-theater popcorn. But now I want to try the exciting flavors! Not all at once, though. I will try to learn from your mistake.
It lived up to my expectations. This may not sound like high praise but it is. If the movie had been anything less than super awesome cool, I would have been disappointed. Of course, in some ways it seemed like five or six TV episodes condensed into two hours by skipping a bunch of character beats. But such things we accept as differences between the formats.
Obviously, I'm going to see it again. I want to pay more attention to some of the director-type stuff.
Good to hear. Do you consider the show (and movie) similar in genre to Xena or Buffy? I like the show and think that it's fun and campy, yet a lot of the rabid fans take the show seriously.
I do consider it similar to Buffy (never really watched Xena). But I also think it's similar to House. I'm not very good with "genre" distinctions. It's about people. It's about smart, funny people and how they choose to deal with the situations that present themselves. As far as taking the show "seriously", I don't know. It's sci-fi so clearly not "real" but it addresses real stuff, or it wouldn't be worth watching.

Chris and I did see Serenity twice this weekend... though fault is not really accurate. We loved it! We went immediately after work on Friday, talked about it all day on Saturday, and made a very last minute decision to see it again on Saturday night. We plan to see it at least once more at the theater and own the DVD.
