OK, fine, I'll get a stupid helmet already

So yesterday I decided to see if I could teach Bo to trot sedately alongside my bike. It turns out that Bo will trot sedately for about twenty feet, and then he will suddenly break into an all-out run and swerve in front of the bike, perhaps in an attempt to herd it, or perhaps simply to demonstrate his superior running technique. This results in ( Read more... )

Yikes! I'm very glad you're OK, but damn, that sounds scary. And painful. ::hugs carefully::

It was pretty painful yesterday, but today I'm doing fine with just a few Advil. They gave me a prescription for Percoset, but that stuff makes me nauseous, so I'm just as happy I don't need it.

I have the same problem with Percocet: nausea and the shakes. But I found that half a tablet cuts the pain without the side effects, so if at some point Advil isn't enough, try half a Percocet and see if it works for you.

Ouch! A helmet sounds like a good idea. Emailing that photo? Even better.

Take care of yourself, Barb.

The annoying thing is, I've just had two weeks of vacation (though I spent a lot of it helping a friend move, so it wasn't exactly relaxing.) I have the time to take off, but I didn't want to use it now. :P

Yikes! Glad you're okay. No more bike-herding for Bo!

Nope. Obviously some other training method is necessary.

It always sucks when your dog inadvertently tries to kill you.

Meep! {{{hugs and ice and arnica}}}

Yes, helmet for you, young lady.

My attempt at bike riding with dog was a total failure. My dog will attempt to herd me, including nipping my socks/ankles.

I'll have to try it again some time. But go much slower. And possibly line the road with pillows.

Wearing the pillows instead would take fewer pillows. Just sayin'.
