1. Saw the Avengers. Liked. ( Do we still need spoilers for this? Probably, because some people will complain if you tell them that Troy falls and Odysseus makes it home. )

I had to google a/b/o too. Fanlore to the rescue!

Lettered: (It's like Whedon has a problem with these compelling actors playing his throw-away villains.)

ROFL. Yeah, because then the fans get attached and Joss might have to keep the villain around longer than he planned and it just messes up everything.

Best Part About the Captain America movie: the little red-headed boy. Top marks for wonderful subversion of Small Child Whose Only Purpose Is to Be Endangered and Distract Hero.

The weird thing about Loki is that he was significantly more one-dimensional in The Avengers than he was in Thor's lead-up movie - which I do recommend seeing sometime. It's not full of deep thinking, but it is fun.

Yeah, the a/b/o fic isn't to my taste. (Nor would I be particularly interested in original fic.) Still and nevertheless, cheers to those who enjoy it. :-)

Still haven't seen Avengers or Thor. I think of Tom Hiddleston as Prince Hal. ;-)

I did see The Avengers,and agree with your comments. It didn't ignite fannish squee.

However...

Because I am unemployed and have too much time on my hands, and because some folks on LJ made some recs, I dipped a toe into Avengers fanfic. O.M.G. There are some great fanfics, so great that I have become fannish for Avengers fanfic.
