At this Pennsic's Scotch & Cigars party, lanome introduced me to someone who shares a couple of my "eventually" research interests: post-Viking Scandinavia, and the 14th century. Having done my PhD on medieval clothing in Sweden and Norway I would say that: no, there no specific way the Danish women were dressed that differed from for exampel Swedish or northern German women.

I'm given to understand that she at least reads Danish, so I'll send it to her anyway. And I've passed your statement along to her. I couldn't think of a way it would have been different, myself, but that's very much more your area than mine. Thank you.

Post-viking Scandinavia finally narrowed down to a preference for the 14th century is my favorite research area (besides the current general toys). I started a yahoo group a few years ago as a place to consolidate information I was finding and so I would not have to re-type when asked questions (rare but recurring). There was some great input from others as well. It has been very quite for a year and a half but there is still data in there. I've been thinking on bringing it back up. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MedScand/

Marianne has also just done a NESAT bit on new non-visible-spectrum analyses of the Oseberg textiles, which is also pretty cool!
