I think I wouldn't edge the bottom. But that's just me.

Purely for balance and symmetry because of the symmetrical nature of the embroidery itself.

And though I hate to say it, I'd redo the attachment to even out the gathers myself.

If you like it this way, then if it still looks balanced once I finish the edging of the front opening, I'll leave it the way it is. It's your shirt, after all. ;)

Finished that a few hours ago. It's gathered much more evenly, now, and I've even lessened the seam allowance by removing the gathering thread after the fact.
