Ooo, I spent two weeks in Alexandria in 2004 I think. I loved it there and it was so easy to travel into DC on the train so a good place to live. I love cobblestone streets, we have a lot. Good luck with what ever happens.

It is a gorgeous old town with the riverside location and loads of history too. Mount Vernon is a great visit if you haven't been before and very close by.
