Still having fun with the English language

Once a week, in prep for our story meeting, I do a whip-around of all the smaller regional papers (better reporters would do this more often than once a week; if it happens on Monday, I'll never know).  Since I still have nothing to write about of a more personal nature, I thought I'd share my enjoyment of this paragraph from an article about ( Read more... )

dude you'd make an awesome Starbuck.
I want to be Starbuck!
i also want the next season of galactica to come out on DVD already...
we're almost out of Grey's Anatomy episodes, so the situation might be getting urgent.

PS the five year olds at the kindergarten next door are playing a fun new game where, one after another, they hurl themselves off of the tallest point of the play structure and land on the wood chips. Then they run around, climb up as fast as they can, and do it again. It reminds me of nothing more than that old computer game, "Lemmings."

We used to do something very similiar at Hedge; I remember that play structure felt like it was five stories tall. I'd love to see it now just to be shocked at how short I'm sure it must be.

Nothing like a little death-defying during recess...

I think we all have to channel our inner Starbuck... except that I've had far too much call today to internally chant the line: "'Cause I'm a screw-up, Lee, try to keep that in mind." (oh, and how much do those two need to get together!)

Realized during last night's episodes that I used to have exactly the same haircut as her... and never looked anywhere near as good with it!

So did you like marathon all three seasons? Because last I checked it was on your to do list. Or in this case, "to WATCH list." You would make an awesome starbuck! Except if it mimicked real life you would have been injured most of the time to downplay how much you truly kicked ass.

My friends down here are deeply disappointed that I haven't finished season 3. I'm actually on episode 11. I've been slowly watching them online. But there's a big gap now. So you can watch them on DIVX.com up until eps 11. And they have full eps of 3.5, but they start on eps 16 I believe. Which means there's like a 4 eps gap! Mother Frackers!!

By the way did you happen to catch Razor? We kind of had a get together to watch it. It was awesome! But apparently I'm missing a few things because I haven't finished the 3rd season. Fracked up beyond all recognition.

Wow, how ironic. There aren't that many of us working in radio in this town to start with; I'm surprised to find there are two with LJs.

Don't mind if you add me, although please understand that I do a fair amount of professional griping that I would really, really like to not get around town.

Nice icon by the way; a good mic always makes such a classy photo.

Understood. I do quite a bit of complaining about the biz too. The last year here in Wilmington has been full of ups and downs (radio-wise, mostly downs!).

The gold mic icon is one of my oldest. I loaded it shortly after I started my journal 4 years ago. Still one of my favorites.
