i maybe should have switched fool for love with hush, in retrospect. but on the upside, they're all great, so pretty much any i chose would work out. : P

I liked the musicals list, too - I'm a fan of musicals.
awesome! which are your favorites? : )

And crack pairings! Yayyyyy. OMG, Cheeseman/First Slayer is WIN. Ahhhhhhh.

Hmmm. let's see. Jesus Christ Superstar is the first one that comes to mind, just cause that is like the thing of my childhood. Like, I went to see a production of it with my best friend as a kid, and then my first CD ever was the soundtrack which I listened to nonstop. So it's very childhood-memories, plus it's just so much fun to listen to, in general.

I also love West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music - more childhood loves. And after seeing a local production I came to be a fan of Ragtime. Oh, and I just watched 1776 on Netflix - that was soooo much fun, zomg.

Strangely I have never seen Mary Poppins. This dire situation should be fixed, now that I think of it!

i am so going to check out those crack!fics now. oh, crack!fic, i love you sooo.....Yesyes, do do do. They're each short little drabbles and won't take up much of your time, but oh how they are delicious ( ... )

I am loving seeing everyone's lists for this stuff!

My favourite song used in Blackpool is The Gambler - in particular I love Carlisle and Blythe in their perfectly timed turn right after the lorry goes by - but these boots is pretty cool too.

Dr Horrible YES! FOTC YES! And Singin' in the Rain was my all time favourite movie as a child. I've seen it approximately five million times and that song is my favourite too (although Make 'em Laugh is a close second). Basically your entire song list here is made of win.

Every person I've seen who has done a Buffy list has put Restless on it. You are the first person to put OMWF and that totally shocks me. I've been sitting here thinking about this and all that I've come up with so far is Hush for sure in addition to those two. But then I also was trying to think of episodes I always come back to and want to watch again, and one of those is The Wish. There are reasons I haven't yet opened myself up to this meme and one of those is my pure indecision ( ... )

p.s. you've got link issues - the follies one has an extra http or something and the ragtime one just goes to the west side story picture. (i hadn't had time before to go watch all the extra stuff so i didn't notice before)

ooh, thanks! they're all fixed now. (i've had evil formatting issues with all of these picspams, honestly, probably because they're so big.) i'm also really impressed someone checked out the links! <3

oh man, carlisle singing into his ice cream (and wearing sunglasses!) is one of the best things ever. although it might be eclipsed by him singing all the "oooooh!"s in the cupid song. i love that man.

aw, it's awesome that we like all the same songs! that makes me super-happy. and that you've seen blackpool. : )

. You are the first person to put OMWF and that totally shocks me.
wow- me too!
yeah, i'm wondering if i should've swapped fool for love with hush. but i think there are still good reasons to put fool for love on my list. i appreciate the wish, but it's not one of my personal favorites- but the payoff comes in doppelgangland either way.

definitely! all mine were stage-based, but i do have a ton of movie musicals i love, too. can i ask what would make your list for either of those? : )

I'm slightly tempted to watch Blackpool now, hmm.

I SO need to go and rewatch all my Buffy seasons!

haha GO DO IT. at the very least there are a ton of the songs on youtube, and those are probably the best part! IT'S SO AWESOME.

but rewatching buffy is also good! : )

Still enjoying these lists, even though I don't know most of the fandoms. I really should finish Dollhouse at some point though... I watched the first 4 or 5 episodes or so and then got bored/distracted/whatever... I've been told it gets better, I've just never gotten around to watching the rest.

Totally with you on the musicals though. Ragtime and Cabaret are two of my absolute favorites.

my fandoms are wide and varied, but i think you like all the good ones. : )

dollhouse gets exponentially better after episode 5. if you only got up to 4, just skip 5. seriously.

ahhh, it makes me so happy that we like the same musicals! what other ones would go on your list? : )

Yeah, when I get a chance I will. At the moment I'm trying to get through the bits of Doctor Who (the new stuff, not the old. That would take forever) that I haven't seen, as well as Being Human (which so far is awesome).

As to other musicals... Hmm. I don't actually like musical theatre that much as a genre, so the number of shows I've seen is pretty small. Rent would probably be on the list - I liked it enough to see it on Broadway twice, although to tell the truth I kind of like the movie more. I also have a great fondness for The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady - although I've only ever seen the movies of both of those. ^_^

ooh, new who should get priority! and i've heard being human is really great, even though i've never seen it

i have definitely seen my fair lady and the sound of music too many times to count...and rent on film too, for that matter... : )

Your list posts have been awesome so far :D

Man, all the last few episodes of Dollhouse really were good, huh?

Crack!ship choices are indeed cracky :P

Also, I need more musical theatre in my life. I wish I had enough money to see all the shows I want to see. We have a great new performance venue in my town, but now I'm leaving, so I don't know if I'll have the chance :/

i have the same problem when i'm at college, although plenty of schools do musicals of their own, which helps (mine, ironically enough, doesn't). but i got into 4/5 of these shows by listening to the sound tracks first- and i still haven't seen ragtime or follies. actually i kind of have seen follies, because there is miraculous footage from an off-broadway production on youtube that shows 9/10 of the show!
point being, you can totally fall for musicals without seeing them, though seeing them is better. and if you ever want ideas for things to listen to, let me know!

The community theatre programme in my college town is actually quite tremendous. My best friend participated in a few of their musicals, and they were all top-class. I'm not sure they get any of the Broadway tours there, but I can always come back home for that, I suppose. We're meant to have a pretty good season this coming year :)

I will gladly take your suggestions! Jane Eyre is quite possibly my favourite musical, and I've never seen it, though that's a sight different since I already know the story ;)

that's awesome! do you know what's playing this year already?

aw, jane eyre! i've never actually heard this musical, because i love the book so much and i'm a little worried what they'll do to it? i'm a little wimpy in this way. : P
