I sit here in my office wondering where the sleep went.

I've been trying out a new medication for my sleep issues because my doctor down here won't prescribe me what I as taking in Michigan...or what I started taking when I first moved down here.  Because they're benzos.

She says [and I know] that with the problems I've had in the past, I have ( Read more... )

I've been seeing a homeopath for years now - and it works great for just about everything else - but haven't been able to get the sleep thing under control.

It's hard to find a naturopath in my network of doctors - but if this goes on for another few months with no resolve, I'm sure I won't mind paying a bit extra to get something done.

I've also tried just about every herb & supplement known to man...but none of them has worked because my problem is staying asleep, not falling asleep. :-(

Thanks!

The second benzo I was on was Temazapam [restoril] - the first was Lorazepam [ativan]. Those 2 are the only things that have helped thus far...but I have to take a benadryl with the temazepam for it to keep me asleep for some reason. I was at the lowest dosage available for both ( ... )

have you tried trazadone yet? Thats what i have been on for years now. I dont take it everynight anymore, cuz i dont need it everynight, but it really works. Maybe you should switch dr.'s if she isnt helping you the way she should be, you know whats best for you, not anyone else.

That's what I'm actually trying right now. She had only given me the "okay" to go up to 100mg - and that's been doing absolutely nothing.

I scheduled a last-minute appt with her on Wednesday and she said I could go up to 200...so I'm going to try that.

We'll see what happens.
I just want something to work. :-(

how do you feel about klonopin? it's one of the longer lasting benzos, i take a 2 mg pill on nights i'm having a hard time sleeping, so i dont take it all the time, but it does work when i take it. i can also recommend a dr (been seeing her for 2 years) who is not afraid of prescribing benzos... as long as you're not stupid about it and take the entire bottle in less than a week like someone we both know. but we both know you're stronger than that. anyway let me know if you want her number. and good luck getting some rest.

I've never tried Klonopin, but most pdocs I've known [mine and friend's] haven't had any problem prescribing it...I actually thought about that yesterday, too.

If this trazodone thing doesn't work, I might take you up on the offer of a referral.
Thanks!

Yeap, new job. We all know I complain about working for Hans...so I went looking - found an admin assistant position at a company about a half hour from here. Nice pay [salary], good benefits...and I don't have to sit alone in my office in the house all day.
