Got these off a post in AvatarSpirit. Nickelodeon is now showing ads promoting the KCA, with Jackson Rathbone and Nicola Peltz doing some slime-bending. Hi, newbie/lurker here. I am completely incompetent in Asian languages, so the squiggles don't look any different to me than real characters would. I do agree with everyone who said that it's needlessly complicated. I like to write fantasy, so I know how difficult it is to design a fictional language based on the Latin alphabet, let alone with a system based on characters.

Ten bucks says that they'll defend it (or worse, promote it) by saying that they were trying to "create a rich, realistic fantasy world with its own language" a la Pandora- never mind that the world of Avatar already IS a rich, realistic fantasy world with its own language!

Jeez, there really is no end to the madness. Not only is the fake Asian writing awful, but the more I look at Rathbone's Sokka, I find myself all nitpicky. Even the wolf-tail is off. It needs to be higher up and more or less "sitting" on the top of his head. Of course, doing it like that would give it a more Inuit feel, which they're clearly not going for. Ugh.
