if you're really lucky, you might also get to give a comment or two on my grad school statement. if I ever write it, that is...
good luck with the travel today. Portland got 10 inches of snow plus a sheet of ice in the last 24 hours, so it's pretty much shut down. On the plus side, such weather is so uncommon here that shoveling expectations are extremely low. Which is convenient, since I don't have a snow shovel. I'm spending the day observing my sixth annual LOTR marathon. At least as long as I have electricity; ice on the wires is causing scattered power outages.
Moby was showing us pix today of the snow situation in Portland. It was a decent snowfall, though we had just left an environment in which our neighbor's kid was digging snow tunnels through three foot piles of snowtailings. Still, I bet our snow wasn't much deeper than 10 or 15 inches in the backyard.
Our bags all finally arrived today, even though we arrived yesterday.
The county just declared a state of emergency because less than half the roads have been ploughed and police & fire vehicles can't get through the foot of snow without getting stuck. (my street would be one of those) Looks like it will start melting this weekend, though we're going to get another dose of snow first.
I really enjoyed this post. You write about this topic very well. There are many cherished moments in life, why not wear a beautiful dress! When looking back on special memories of your child wearing a gorgeous dress, it will make a fond memory.
