Did I ever tell you the one about the zombie?

I dreamt that I'd killed someone, who had come back as a zombie to get me. Scarier than it sounds as I don't have a great cliche detector when asleep. Anyway, I managed to wake myself up sufficiently to realise that zombies don't exist - but all the same, even if the person I'd murdered wasn't going to get me, I still felt terrible about the murder. As you would. Not something you want to have on your conscience when trying to get back to sleep.

Then I woke up (boom boom)

Not had any clear physical being-someone-ese thing though. For that you are a freak.

Do you have any idea whose room you woke up in before waking up in yours...? :)

No, you're not a freak - the moments between sleeping and waking, especially if you're waking up slowly (ie no alarm clock) can produce extreme weirdness, especially for someone with such an active imagination as yourself. I wouldn't worry about it, at worst it's a cool story to tell down at the pub!

Thanks for the reassurance, dear. I thought it might make a fun horror story to write, when I have time to get a round tuit.
As for whose room it was; it was no-one's that I knew, though it was definitely "mine" - but obviously I was someone else so, er... I could draw it for you? It had lots of plants in it. Maybe I should put more plants in my room. Maybe that's what it wast trying to tell me.

Have any of you lot had that experience? Anyone want to offer an interpretation? Other than that I’m a freak?

Clearly you've not been paying enough attention when I talk about my dreams! Totally not a freak - some dreams right before you wake up are surprisingly realistic.

Ah I should have guessed that you'd reply to this post! You're good with dreams. I guess this was probably what you would call a lucid dream? Still not sure what it all means though...

I frequently have that - where I dream I wake up, but tis still a dream. In fact it often happens in several layers to me - so I wake up many times, each time realising the time before was a dream, but not the current one, until I actaully wake up - with a slightly shaky grasp on reality.

I didn't realise that was particularly unusual....oh dear. Am clearly more of a freak than I realised.
