(ETA: Also? We can now see how he could become the besuited coldhearted evil government thug of the future in last year's Five Years Later. That's been in him all along.)
Oooooh, nice observation.

I mean, yes, I know, the picture-prophecy, it had to come true somehow. But I still can’t believe THEY JUST KILLED MR. BENNETT!!!!!!!
I KNOW. I WAS ALL, "MAKE IT UNHAPPEN. CHANGE IT BACK. FIX THIS. GODDAMMIT. THERE'S STILL TIME LEFT IN THE SHOW. HE'S NOT REALLY DEAD. SOMETHING."

AND I DON'T EVEN CARE THAT IT KIND OF MAKES NO SENSE FOR CLAIRE'S BLOOD TO BRING PEOPLE BACK FROM THE DEAD BECAUSE WE GOT BENNET BACK.

Right? I mean - he scared MAMA PATRELLI!! NOTHING scares Mama Patrelli.

EXACTLY.

Also? I love that his waking-from-the-dead scene echoed Claire's from S1 so nicely. ("Ho-lee -" *blackout*)

I was sort of thrilled they were ballsy enough to do it, but then relieved they undid it.

Heroes is pretty good right now. I was meh most of last year and this year, because they DRAG stuff out, but I'm really enjoying it right now.

I agree very much.

I know. Last year, I enjoyed the pilot and the initial concept/setup, but after the first 2-3 episodes it became very ...eh, overall. (all blahblah Niki thinks she's going crazy, blahblah Mohinder in India, blahblah)

Until about...actually, it was at this same point in the season it began to pick up - "Homecoming," Episode 9.

And then you had the run of Awesomeness that was the last 25% of the season (although, granted, the actual finale was climaxed by both "Five Years Later" and "Company Man" previously)

I do agree that there's a abundance of redundancy. But I think that's a failing inherent to a serial/comic book setup. Doesn't mean I have to like it though.

Hopefully these next (last!) two episodes we're getting will be on the awesome/action-packed end of the scale.

Yep, that's exactly it.

What I think it is they spend a lot of time moving pieces around because I think they start out with the endgame in mind: they've been building to this episode all season, but they had to play through various characters' plots and get Mohinder in the right place at the right time. Meanwhile, they've been working on the Kensei/Monroe thing, which will eventually connect to the virus plot, and...it's complicated, this Heroes business.

(Also, when Maya y Alejandro and Monica will actually be relevant, who knows?)

The reasons for why they do it make sense, but I still end up watching a lot episodes waiting for shit I care about to happen, which is boring. VM S1 didn't feel like it dragged stuff out, though it took a full season to answer most questions, because I was entertained by all the other stuff going on.

I probably wouldn't notice the dragging so much if I was interested in more than 30% of the characters.
