Ooooh, this is so good! I really enjoy your writing style; you have great skill with words, and your characters are absolutely spot-on. I love this look into Neal's psyche and the revelation that Peter has about it. The ending is sweet and perfect. Thank you for posting!

You are way too nice! I very much appreciate the time you took to read and comment, and a little feedback as to whether or not I stayed IC is always wonderful. Thank you. :)

I am so very honored to have, in part, inspired this story.

It's wonderful - and yes, I can definitely see Neal having sleepless nights without having his safety net, his parachute, close at hand.

Brava! Thank you for sharing.

ETA - I've linked to your fic in the post for Things Taken.

In return, please allow me to say that I am very honored that you linked to this story and left a favorable comment. It was "Things Taken" that, in large part, got my mind working this way. That was a gorgeous fic! Thank you!

I adored this. You captured everyone so well, from their words to their mannerisms, and it all flows so seamlessly. Neal's quips, Peter's cynicism, Elizabeth's amusement... just perfect. Oh and Mozzie's rants. I might hire you to write those for me, because I can't come up with enough conspiracy-laden BS to spew from Mozzie's mouth.

But I love how it all affected Neal, and felt bad for him during the meeting, already feeling the distrust, and finally getting through to Peter. I'm glad Peter brought the bag back. Neal wasn't going to run - but he will always need that parachute.

Great source for Mozzie-rant-material: the History channel. ;) Watch a few shows, and you will have all the inspiration you can handle. (I'm not saying it's aliens...) Also good: any news channel with a strong political bias.

The boys really do have some trust issues, and after reading elrhiarhodan's piece, I just kept thinking about how freaked Neal would likely be if he didn't have an escape strategy in place. I mean, conmen move around a lot anyway, and then he was on the run, followed by prison. None of these are ideal ways to build your sense of security!

As always, I deeply appreciate your feedback!

I think lena7142 really says it for me.
The Boy Scout in Neal of always "Be Prepared" shines thru and without his bag it puts him off balance. And Kudo to Peter for
finally recongnizing it, with El's help.
The fun part is discovering what our own travel bag holds.

Peter sometimes needs a bit of a head start, but I like to think he always gets there in the end. Even if it takes a healthy shove from Elizabeth, who is a remarkable woman.

Thank you for the time you put into both reading and commenting. :)
