I just got back from my first belly dance class in about five years. I've been taking lessons off and on since I was sixteen, and I've really been wanting to get back into it lately. Unfortunately, there are NO instructors in Denton, so I had to look around a bit. There are several in Lewisville and a couple in Frisco, but oy! they were pretty ( Read more... )

Yeesh...you're doubting my word that I took a class? It's not like I claimed I danced for the pasha or whatever.

Oh man I just started getting back into tennis after around five years of not really playing. I've played badminton on and off, but Tennis has been a while and that's some hard freakin' running around. My hand-eye coordination sucked and I would tell my feet to go one direction, they wanted to go another direction XD I'm just grateful it was me and my sister playing. It doesn't help that she really pounds the ball when we play so it flies all the way to the other end and it hits the fence behind me XD

Oh man, I haven't played tennis since high school--and I was never very good at it even then. It doesn't help that I hate, loathe, and despise running, lol. Guh, don't you hate it when you tell your feet to do one thing and they stubbornly insist on doing something else?

Yeah it's been so long everything was sore the day after I am so very out of shape, I used to be a competent runner...now I'm a putz. Yeah I hate that, I'm always reminded of my first time in a skating rink, when they turn the lights down and drop the disco ball. That first time in my head I knew I wanted my body to follow the herd and keep going...but it didn't know which way to go and I ended up falling down in the middle of the floor.

Lord, me too; I'm ridiculously out of shape now. It's been so long I felt like I had two--possibly three--left feet. And they kept trying to go where they weren't supposed to. I haven't been skating in a looooong time, either. I do remember the first time I ever tried it though, and yeah, it was pretty traumatic. XD
