oh, it went over well. of course she had to bitch and complain: "why'd you get chocolate covered strawberries and bananas? i don't even like chocolate," but then she realized that my stepdad and i planned to eat the chocolate things if she didn't, so we all enjoyed tons of delicious fruit for the whole weekend.
