Can you replace the depo with another BC so you regulate your periods?

i'm horrible at pills, so the pill is no good for me. what i'm really interested in is an IUD, but i sorta need to get this uncontrollable bleeding thing under control before i can go get checked out for that. i know it's gross, but sometimes i wish they could just barge right in there even when you have your period.

my gyno is an amazing guy, so he'll hook me up with some good suggestions.

Good. Good luck with it! My mom had problems with periods that wouldn't end and it started draining her....iron? I'm not sure. But keep a check on all that stuff!

yeah, it is iron. my periods were making me anemic, too, and that's yet another reason why i started on the shot.

really there was nothing wrong with it except that i didn't like being/feeling so fat. but whatever. i guess i'll have to get over it.

My ex was on depo for a while, and she also noticed that she was gaining tons of weight. She did some googling on it and found that many women have experience similar side effects. Her periods were also very weird in coming off it, and for a while were irregular.

i knew all of this could happen, but you know how the medical literature leads you to believe that this happens to like, .03% of women.

do you know how things worked out for your ex? did things resolve themselves?

She ended up going off Depo, actually. There were some more issues dealing with her insulin, but those weren't related to the shot. It just compounded the problem.

What's your doc's opinion of changing BC?

i should really go get my thyroid and blood tested just to make sure i'm alright.

and my doc is super cool, so whatever i tell him will lead to very good advice. i think i'm one of the only women in the world who likes going to the gyno. i reserve my fear, terror, and discomfort for the dentist.

it is fabulous there, but the ladies were rather unpleasant.
i wish i lived closer, because they really have everything i'd want in terms of yarn.
