but assuming Kurenai Yuzuru becomes new otokoyaku top of Hoshigumi who do we expect/suspect/hope makes new musumeyaku top?

Even if musumeyaku often gets promoted quite young there aren’t that many that have only had one shinko lead, I think Maihane Mimi was the latest and Dan Rei and Emi Kurara before her. Ranno Hana had no formal shinko lead ( Read more... )

Oto Kurisu, Hitomi Arisa, and Hoshikaze Madoka are all being promoted at the moment too and at least a few will probably have reached the requisite lead number by the time Micchan leaves.

Maaya Kiho is the most likely Hoshigumi candidate imo, unless Beni decides she really likes Airi suddenly or wants someone from another troupe.

I've at least seen most of these names (except Oto Kuriso) even if I have basically no experience of them.

I still hope for someone with a few more years of experience. It would be nice if the musumeyaku tops had at least left the shinkos before the promotion.

I get the sentiment.. Fun as it is watching musumeyaku grow, it feels unfair to them to make them spend half their top stardom just figuring themselves out.

That said, the new gen is unexpectedly filled with kids who can actually Do Things. Madoka and Kurisu have nice voices, and Maaya and Michiru are already fan darlings. Young as they are, I wouldn't consider them uncooked talent either. (Whereas - God bless, I love her, she's family - but Wakaba has been on that stove for almost juunen now and.........)

Yeah, I kind of want to give it to Wakaba for "long and faithful service" even if I have been more team Haruko than team Wakaba. And it would be nice if they saved a good singer for Daimon.

I want to say that Wakaba is definitely out of the running for anything. She was star-tracked once upon a day, but has moved to the "Remi"-track. She's gotten the transfer out of the way of the younger musumeyaku and is getting the nibante musumeyaku roles. She's what... going on 10 years now?

I'm going to second @dybji by throwing Oto Kurisu, Hitomi Arisa, and Hoshikaze Madoka into the ring, if Beni was going to go out of troupe. But I think Beni is a hoshi girl through and through. So I'm sure she'll probably be offered, and accept a hoshigirl. That leaves essentially two options, without it literally coming from nowhere, Airi or Maaya. Personally I think they are going to give it to Maaya Hiho. She doesn't have a second shinko lead yet, but she was really really impressive in her first and she played opposite Coto in her last Bow Hall, which says something. She's exceedingly talented, probably more than Beni needs in a partner. Airi would be functional, but Beni needs somebody who compliments her flaws, which Maaya can do. She ( ... )

It must be hard to get teamed up with an otokoyaku top whose main talent is personality.

Maaya is a transfer which I have taken to assume being at least decently star tracked. Nice to hear that she is talented too.

And even if the affected musumeyaku might not agree I kind of like the "Remi"-track. It is nice to have those experienced ladies around, at least when they get decently sized interesting roles. Although it stings a little when your favourite lands on that track, in my case people like Minami Mari, Hizaki Seara and Otoha Minori. I seem to have a knack for liking those musumeyaku, maybe because they've had time to grow experience.
