I haven't commented before, but I found myself scrolling through my friends page earlier today going "Where is that Kurt/Quinn story? I want the next chapter damnit!" which means you rock. My attention is notoriously hard to keep while a fanfic is ongoing (I'd rather read 20 chapters in an afternoon than wait for each to come out). So be proud of yourself! And get more chapters written :)

*laughs* I'm glad you liked this. I usually finish a story before releasing it so I can promise regular updates, but I wanted to get this going before season 2 demotivated me due to the inevitable Jossing to my backstory (like who Kurt's mother was). I've a couple more chapters drafted, then I'm hoping for weekly updates.

You know what? Go with your fanon. Mind-canon, especially in Glee, is so awesome, it really changes how you see a character. It's great!

I will, but my natural inclination is to try to make something fit into canon. It's why I tend to be most active as a writer once a series completes or is on break...

Ooooh, Burt. Harsh and true, as if Quinn needs to feel any worse. I like the way both Hummels are handling it, and I'm glad Quinn talked to Kurt after Terri found her. Looking forward to see what they do when she starts pestering Quinn.

It's really strange, but if you try to google for girl to guy rape, the findings are pretty scant. Burt was the one who would naturally address the noncon issue - it doesn't even occur to Quinn, and Kurt probably wouldn't call it rape. But yes, Quinn did rape Kurt. Which makes this story even more "oh shit" than it already is.

As for Terri... all I can say is the fall out is going to happen pretty quickly.

I was just about to log off and then I saw this pop into my inbox and so I had to read it =)

Burt's talk with Quinn was pretty intense and thought provoking, I hadn't even considered that angle in the slightest... And now I sorta wanna hug Burt for just being plain awesome (I'm a huge Burt fan =D).

And I so wanna hit Terri, I agree with Quinn, how Mr. Schuester ended up with her I'll never really know xD

Also loving Gothicly dressed Quinn =]
I so wanna draw that now xD

Heee! That's so flattering - I get like that with some fics, too, so I appreciate the compliment a lot.

The idea of a girl raping a guy seems out there - try googling it (if you dare get the kind of pop ups that search brings) and you'll see there's few reputable sites about it. But Quinn did rape Kurt (weird thought, right?) because he didn't consent. Rape is a crime about power and control, and the scenario fits. Not that I want to get on the soapbox about it, but it's a very interesting idea that this fic is going to brush into a couple times. Neither Quinn nor Kurt really wants to think of it that way - Quinn because it boggles her mind and makes her even more of a villain, and Kurt... well, we'll get there.

Burt is win. He calls it like he sees it.

Most of the Terri scene was lifted directly from the series - it's the fallout that's going to be spectacularly different.

And if you feel like drawing, I'd love to see. The only pictures I can paint are with words... stick figures are beyond me!

I really am loving this story, but I don't understand why they can't just be two single/dating-other-people people who happen to have a baby. Being married would be so horrible for both of them! And it's so not what marriage is meant to be about.

Thank you!

My reasoning for why Kurt would propose marriage isn't romantic at all. I'm not sure how familiar you are with small, middle American towns, but this scenario builds on some of the underlying cultural pinnings. Quinn is very religious and was taught the only right way to have a child is within a marriage. Kurt comes from the gay community, and marriage isn't about just the relationship, but the rights that come with it. The fic should cover this at some point.

I'm really not familiar with that sort of thinking at all. In the town where I live, people are surprised when you tell them that your parents are still together. The fact that mine have been married for thirty years is a real achievement. The idea of getting married because of a pregnancy seems almost ridiculous to someone from where I grew up (a town with one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the country). Thank you for explaining!

Some towns (not many, admittedly) have an attitude that a boy needs to do the "right thing." Some of the most backwater towns in the US still have this attitude - I knew of girls who went to "boarding school" even in the nineties, and one of my classmates dropped out and got married at sixteen. This is very old fashioned, but I think it's not out of the realm of possibility that Quinn and Kurt might reach this conclusion separately. I do think Lima should be more progressive than this (it's got a large enough population), but the show keeps stressing how backwater it is so I'm running with it.
