This is so amazing! I love your writing style, and your dialogue is spot-on. And Benny... I love him taking care of Dean here, concerned and just taking sam's initial hostility in stride. There isn't even a whole lot going on here, but I was honestly caught up in the story from beginning to end.

This is a really lovely comment! Especially since that was one of my BIG concerns: nothing happening. Thanks bunches for reading and leaving nice words! :D
I haven't been reading much in this fandom lately. This one just happened to catch my eye on the spn newsletter. I totally adore Benny and am sad that things turned out for him the way they did. Your characterization for all 3 is great here. Thanks for the great read.
This was a good read. I loved how Benny's accent even came through in his text message spelling. :)
Thank you for playing out Dean's alcoholism to its full extent, something I truly feel the show never did, even though Jensen could have rocked those kinds of scenes. I know there's such a thing as a functioning alcoholic, but for all the side effects we saw on TV, Dean may as well have been addicted to caffeine-free soda. This fic is what alcohol addiction looks like. Again, thank you.
You gave us a better glimpse of Sam, too. I don't expect Jared to lose a bunch of weight or anything, but something breaking Sam down at the cellular level should mar his looks. Well, at least we get it in fic! :)
I can believe Benny would have done this for Dean, and not taken too much shit off Sam. But there's one thing I'm still not sure about. Did Dean really call Benny there just so they could spend a quick hour together, or was this Dean's cry for help?
Heh, that text? It's what I use and I was raised in the South. ;) I absolutely adore the drawl and Ty did a great job with it.
I could've gone on and on with the alcohol withdrawal, but since this was just a little comment fic and I have other things I've gotta get to, I abridged it but YEAH, it can be plain deadly. And boy, do I love hurting the boys!
I puzzled over why Dean would've called Benny too. To my thinking, I figured maybe Dean was too embarrassed to drag Sam into his withdrawal, especially since Sam had his own issues, what with the "breaking down on a cellular level." Dean knew it was gonna get bad, and since he and Benny had been through it once before in Purgatory, it was indeed a sudden and urgent cry for help. He didn't think as far out to Sam's return (and let's face it, that's Dean's MO; he doesn't tend to consider consequences. He does what he needs to in the moment; tomorrow is another day.)
Thanks bunches for the comment and the discussion! I live for this stuff. :D

Again, good fic.
