LED car bulbs

I know there's some interest in these things and if they work, but there's very little real user feedback on whether they're worth having. Here's my experience, based on a quick bit of retro-fitting to the Volvo.

Mine came from http://ultraleds.co.uk Good range, good prices, delivery is reasonable.

What I can't find at Ultraleds are the square-based ones with the two little spades that my 850 needs in various dashy places. I suspect they are R509TL, and they seem to be Very Rare. Bastards.

What does your driver's handbook say? Mine (if you read it obsesively) has a complete list of all bulbs and their relevant fittings.

What about this? (it lists the 850)

Mine has a list, but it doesn't match the dead bulbs I've taken out. Long, thin, square-section plastic holder with two tiny spades.
