Trying to come up with something for the
pulped_fictions 'Someone Else's Sandbox' challenge, and everything is either too long or too porny (which is not to say that I wouldn't provide you lovely people with porn, but there's a difference between 'porn' and 'using Mr. Fantastic to fill your fisting/stretching kink square

I know what I am going to write for 'Someone Else's Sandbox', I just need to write it. (It is the second half of the 'Amy is a hooker' fic I started for the Eleven-era kinkmeme.) The first half debuted to the sound of crickets on the meme (which has been disappointingly quiet as of late), so I'm eager to finish these and post them elsewhere, so I can determine if the story is really as boring as I fear it might be.
*ahem*
Then I need to get on with the business of writing more porn for Kink Bingo.
And you should totally get started on that 'set in America' story, and if you like, I am totally willing to Ameri-pick it for you, just 'cause I like the idea of actually doing that.

Ooooh! That sounds interesting and I will wait excitedly to see it! I bet it's not boring and it's just that the DW kinkmeme cannot see your shining talent!
I have stalled a bit with my kink bingo. But no more! I am putting a plan in place to finish it and nothing will stop me.
I like the sound of something *being* Ameri-picked for once, so I might just have to take you up on that.

I hate that. It's like "Can you not see the fabulous story in my head?? Seriously, in my head it's PERFECT!!"
Americans are less butthurt over people not knowing every single thing about them (way to go Americans \o/)
It's because we're such a big country with such a huge range of things about us. We don't even know all about us, so we certainly don't expect other people to ;)
Someone kick my arse to start this

I think that has a lot to do with it. Not that I necessarily think wanting your culture to be portrayed accurately is *wrong*, but there is a proportionate level of caring that some people just steamroll over and run straight into starting a flamewar, and that's kind of... a little extreme when we're talking about lift vs. elevator, y'know?
\o/ - thank you! ::runs off to start::

Add me to your list of American experts. Is there a particular geography you want to get right, or is it more customs/institutions?

Will do! I'm not overly worried about geography per se; I *think* it's set in New York (I'm sure it'll decide for itself later if it wants to move), which I feel reasonably comfortable writing because I've been exposed to enough fiction and imagery about it over the years. I just keep pausing at stupid tiny details and having to stop to research/ask Twitter. It's just that a lack of first-hand knowledge makes me nervous.
